MERCHANT NAVY AS A CAREER
While the Indian Navy safeguards the coasts of the nation, it is Merchant Navy
that is concerned with the trade across the seven sea. The Maritime Industry
Offers career that have nationally & internationally recognized tertiary
qualification, job satisfaction, a high level of responsibility, good
advancement prospects & a wide variety of career opportunities, both at sea &
ashore.
Along with the excellent pay and promising promotional, it provides scope for
adventure and travel. Merchant Navy is also challenging career for young
generation as it is a mixture of both pleasure and pin-while the benefits are
numerous, the long sea voyages do have their disadvantages-boredom, loneliness,
strenuous work, separation from family etc. But on the whole, it teaches
resiliency, responsibility, courage and strength and opens the doorway to new
places and wonderful experience.
The yeomen efforts of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), London is
achieving the twin objective of ship and clean seas, by the development of
various conventions, protocols and guidelines concerning the safety of life at
sea, prevention of pollution at sea, seafarers certification and watch keeping
are appreciated to the word.
Merchant navy is known for transportation. Plus point of merchant navy is the
highest paid salary. Moreover it is totally tax-free. You can save the total
salary since all your expense is borned by the Shipping company.
Different Sections on the ship:-
DECK (Master, chief officer, second/third officer, Cadet, Seaman)
ENGINE (Chief Engineer, Marine Eng, forth / third / second Engineer,
Junior Eng.)
KITCHEN (Steward, Waiter, Cook, Mess boy)
PETTY OFFICER (Electrical Officer, Fitter, Welder, Oiler, Wiper)
G.P.RATING
On successful completion of this training programme the candidates will be able
to join as a GP RATING in Indian & foreign Shipping Companies as a GP crew and
he can work deck or engine crew. With further sea service, they will be promoted
as DECK SERANG, BOSUN, ABLE BODIED SEAMEN, OILER.
They can also be promoted to officer level with certain service & qualification
requirements. There are wide job opportunities for our Indian Seamen all over
the world.

After successful completion of G.P.Rating, the certificate will be issued by the
academy approved by DGS govt. of India. In addition to that candidate will
obtain continuous discharge certificate (Indian CDC) from the directorate
general of shipping govt. of India as per the CDC rule.

SALOON RATING
Per-Sea Training : Saloon Rating

DECK CADET--- (Leads to B.Sc Nautical Science)- (In Collaboration with Indian Maritime University)
On successful completion of this training programme the trainees can join as a
NAUTICAL TRAINEE CADET on board a ship (Indian / Foreign Shipping Companies).
With further sea service and post sea training program, the nautical cadets can
appear for the second mate examination. After passing they will be joining as
navigational watch keeping officer as second mate onboard a ship. With further
sea service, they will be promoted to CHIEF OFFICER & then MASTER (Captain) of
the ship.
After successful completion of training, the certificate will be issued by the
academy approved by DGS govt. of Indian . In addition to that candidates will
obtain continuous discharge certificate (Indian CDC) from the directorate
General of shipping govt.of India as per the CDC rule.

GME Course (Graduate Mechanical Engg.)
On successful completion of this training programme the trainees get exemption
of CLASS IV part A exam & can join as a FIFTH ENGINEER on board a ship. (Indian
/ foreign Shipping companies).
The candidates with further sea service and successful completion of competency
certificates with short refresher Courses, qualify to work as CHIEF ENGINEER
OFFICER and can earn monthly salary of around Rs.1,50,000/-. Thus trainees
graduating from our course, at the age of 25, can expect to earn, in the region
of Rs.1, 50,000/- Rs per month, by the age of 30, if required diligence is shown
for completing various competency certificates. On foreign Flagships, the
salaries are much higher than on Indian ships.
After successful completion of GME course, the course certificate will be issued
by the academy approved by Directorate general shipping (DGS) govt.of Indian .In
addition to that candidate will obtain continuous discharge certificate (Indian
CDC) from the DGS govt. Indian, as per CDC rule.

B.E.MARINE ENGINEERING
On successful completion of this training programme the trainees get exemption
of CLASS IV part A exam & can join as a FIFTH ENGINEER on board a ship. (Indian
/ foreign Shipping companies). With further sea services and post sea training
program, you can appear for the class IV part B examination.
After passing they will be as joining as a fourth Engineer onboard a ship. With
further sea services, they will be promoted to SECOND ENGINEER and the CHIEF
ENGINEER of the ship.
After successful completion of B.E. courses, the course certificated will be
issued by Academy approved by DGS govt. of India In addition to that candidate
will obtain Continuous Discharge Certificate (Indian CDC).from the directorate
general of shipping govt of India as per CDC rule
DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAM
On successful completion of this training program the candidate will be able to
join as s ordinary seaman (OS) in Indian & Foreign shipping companies as a G.P
crew and he work as a deck or engine crew. With father sea services they will be
promoted as DECK SERANG, BOSUN, ABLE BODIES SEAMAN, OILER. They can also be
promoted to the officers level with certain services & qualification
requirements.

ELECTRO TECHNICAL OFFICER
This unique sector-specific programme which is the first of its kind in India,
focuses on the need of appropriate education & training in the areas of
Electrical & Electronics. The programme of study has been carefully designed
by experts & professionals in shipping practices. Yet another unique feature
of this programme is that the curriculum will be largely handled by industry
faculty who are experienced professionals in the field. This programme is
designed to equip the students with adequate skill & knowledge in Electrical &
Electronics in the ships.

There are wide job opportunities for Indian Seaman all over the world.
